Breast

Self confidence is an important part of who we are. For some, the size and shape of our breasts changes how we feel about ourselves. At New Leaf Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Fort Worth, we will work with you to determine the right procedure for you to give you the confidence you deserve in order to feel and look your best.

Mommy Makeover

A mommy makeover usually consists of a customized procedure for the abdomen and a customized procedure for the breasts. Women gain weight during pregnancy, and as your pregnancy progresses and your baby grows, you have stretching of the abdominal muscles which can lead to weakness. You also have stretching of the overlying skin which can lead to excess skin or stretch marks. Some patients also have localized fat deposits. You want to be at a stable weight after pregnancy before you have any mommy makeover procedures done. You also want to make sure that you are not breastfeeding if you are planning on having a breast procedure. If you are planning a future pregnancy, you may want to wait until you are finished having children before you have your mommy makeover.

Breast Lift with Enlargement (Augmentation/Mastopexy)

Some breasts have a loss of volume and droopiness.  In these patients, excess skin is removed, the nipple is repositioned, and the remaining skin and tissue is lifted and tightened to help restore the breasts to a more youthful position.  They are also enlarged to add more volume.

Breast Enlargement (Breast Augmentation)

The most popular of all breast surgeries, breast enlargement/augmentation is generally performed to restore lost volume and/or to balance uneven breast size.

Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammoplasty)

Patients who seek breast reduction surgery often suffer from physical symptoms caused by the excess weight of large breasts – chronic neck, back and shoulder pain, poor posture, skin rashes under the breasts, grooves in the shoulders from bra straps, and the inability to participate in physical activity. There are different techniques for breast reduction. We will decide what technique is best for your individual needs during your intitial consultation at our Fort Worth center.

Gynecomastia

A condition in which a man’s breast tissue is enlarged, resulting from changes in hormone levels during infancy, adolescence and old age. This can be corrected with liposuction, excision of glandular tissue, excision of skin, or a combination of techniques. The patient’s own tissue can be used or implant reconstruction is another option. The best method depends on each patient’s situation. Patients will have to take into consideration: recovery time, time off work, history of radiation, and donor site complications, if patient’s own tissue is used.

Breast Reconstruction

Breast Reconstruction surgery is most often performed on women who have lost one or both breasts to cancer.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Over time all breasts can lose their volume and shape, whether from age, pregnancy and breast feeding, or significant weight loss or gain. During breast lift surgery, excess skin is removed, the nipple is repositioned and the and the remaining skin and tissue is lifted and tightened to help restore breasts to a youthful, more flattering position. In cases where a patient wishes to add fullness and size, breast lift surgery is combined with breast augmentation.
